A little while ago someone said to me "If you are not on Facebook, you basically don't even exist." I am now driven to believe those who say it. To see out what is going on in the lives of individuals you know you only have to browse these social network sites. It is just about impossible to keep in contact otherwise.

Nevertheless, staying informed about the life of your friends and acquaintances surely is not the only intention of such websites. Another use of social websites is advertising yourself and drawing in business especially if you are a real estate agent. With the increase of internet services, advertising in the newspaper or putting up large billboards have nearly disappeared for good. Using and advertising on the internet is now the way to go. If you have an internet connection, it is not impossible to find help and recommendations on making full use of social networking.

For older generations who were not brought up with computers, it's difficult to get used to using computers and to find their way round websites. Youngsters go on computers from a young age, so are at ease with them, but we, from the older generation, are taking a while to work things out. Regardless of the obstacles we still do our best. Those ideas, I venture, are not just felt by me, but by lots of realtors out there.

Using the internet, writing on social websites and finding interesting and new things to post on our blogs is usually the last thing we want to do after a hard day at work. Nonetheless, saying that it's does become a portion of our daily routine. Instead of sitting down in front of the TV, leisure now means sitting in front of a computer and writing on social networking websites. Is it in vain, or are people bothered or care about what we write about? Is it only people that do the similar job actually studying the articles and posts we make? I guess we will never know for sure, will we?

One way of keeping up with what fellow realtors are working on for me, is to read their websites and read their features. For someone who is not connected to the property market, I really couldn't say whether these features would be of any interest. By reading colleagues blogs and articles, it doesn't matter how often I get together with them, I am always up to date with their lives. I may honestly say that thanks to social networking, I have gotten to know colleagues I haven't talked to for ages again. That sure is brilliant!

As a real estate agent I work with Condos in Toronto, and I found social networking to be one of the key ways of making professional contacts. Hopefully this small article did help you
