A short time ago someone said to me "If you are not on Facebook, you fundamentally don't even exist." Lately I have seen myself starting to agree with these individuals. Social network sites give you an insight into what your buddy's and fellow workers are doing. Keeping in touch is just about impossible without these websites.

Though don't just think of these sites as a way of keeping up to date about the lives of acquaintances. Another use of social websites is promoting yourself and bringing in business especially if you are a real estate agent. The times when a billboard or a little advertisement in a newspaper was enough for propagation of one's work or business are long gone and they will never come back. Using and promotion on the internet is now the way to move forward. If you scan the internet, you will find lots of articles with ideas on how to use, and promote yourself, on social networking sites.

For older individuals who were not brought up with computers, it's tough to get used to making the most out of computers and to find their way round websites. For the older generation it is going to take time to wade through, whereas children seem to know how to do it naturally. In spite of that, we try I bet many of my fellow realtors have the same reactions.

After working all day its not surprising we come home tired, so it's nearly impossible to sum up the energy to find interesting things to write about on blogs or make posts on social websites such as facebook and twitter. It evolved into a part of our daily habits. Instead of sitting down in front of the TV, relaxation now means sitting in front of a computer and posting on social networking web pages. Is there people out there that are fascinated in our blogs? For all the time we put into our blogs and posts, are only fellow realtors reading it? Is there an solution to that question, I don't suppose so.

Personally because the articles are of interest to me, I do read and look at the websites of my fellow real estate agents. For someone who is not working in the housing market, I really couldn't say whether these features would be of any interest. By looking up colleagues blogs and articles, it doesn't matter how often I get together with them, I am always up to date with their lives. I may genuinely declare that thanks to social networking, I have gotten to know individuals I haven't talked to for ages again. That sure is fantastic!

As a realtor I work with Toronto Condos, and I consider social networking to be one of the key ways of getting new leads. I hope this small article was of any help for you!
