Promote Yourself using Social Networking.

If you are not on Facebook, you basically don't even exist, someone has said to me some time ago. Truthfully, I'm starting to lean towards this attitude. To see out what is going on in the lives of persons you know you only have to browse these social network sites. If you don't use these websites then it's very awkward to keep in touch.
However, staying informed about the life of your friends and acquaintances surely is not the only intention of such websites. Let's face it, real estate agents (and not only them, of course) also use such sites because they want to somehow champion themselves, they want to attract more individuals to use their services. With the rise of internet services, advertising in the newspaper or putting up large billboards have nearly disappeared for good. The way to move forward is now the internet. If you scan the internet, you will see lots of articles with hints on how to use, and promote yourself, on social networking sites.
Of course it's much more difficult for older generations to get used to all the kinds of new websites, types of writing, commenting and all the related tasks. Kids go on computers from a young age, so are good with them, but we, from the older generation, are taking a while to work things out. In spite of that, we do our best I don't accept it's just me that feels like that and many of my fellow realtors are finding it just as time consuming.
After an exhausting day full of work, driving, telephone calls, meetings and checking out houses, we come home and even if we are extremely shattered, we check out the real estate news, try to find appeling topics and write a couple of articles for our blogs, post something on facebook or twitter. It became a part of our daily habits. Working on our blogs and social network web pages is now relaxation. Is there members of the public out there that are fascinated in our articles? For all the time we put into our articles and posts, are only fellow realtors looking at it? Regrettably that is not a question any of us have the solution to?
One way of keeping up with what fellow realtors are up to for me, is to check out their websites and read their reports. But who knows whether their posts also appeal to ordinary individuals (I don't mean this in a negative way, of course), the job of whom is not involved with real estate at all. So now I don't have to meet or talk to my fellow agents often to know what is going on with their lives, I can read about it in their websites and posts. So I may not have spoken to someone for a long time, but I can honestly say I have learnt alot about them, and this is thanks to social networking. What a fantastic idea social networking is.
In my professional life I sell Condominiums Toronto, and I consider social networking to be one of the key ways of success. Therefore I hope this little article was of any help for you!
