Social Networking: A Device for Self-Promotion?

Individuals say that you want to be on Facebook or other social networking webpages otherwise you don't exist. I am now starting to agree with them. If you desire to actually know something about the life of your friends or work mates, you just need social networking sites. It is just about impossible to keep in contact otherwise.
Nevertheless, staying informed about the life of your mates and acquaintances surely is not the only use of such websites. Promoting yourself and promoting your product is another convenience of these sites as many real estate agents have seen. With the increase of internet services, advertising in the newspaper or obtaining large billboards have nearly disappeared never to return. The way forward is now the internet and computers. On-line, (what a coincidence) you can discover a plethora of articles with instructions and working tips on how to use the phenomenon of social networking.
For older individuals who were not brought up with computers, it's hard to get used to using computers and to find their way round websites. Kids work with computers from a young age, so are fluent with them, but we, from the older generation, are taking a while to work things out. Though, we do our best I bet a few of my fellow realtors have the same feelings.
Using the internet, writing on social websites and finding interesting and new things to post on our blogs is usually the last thing we want to do after a long day at work. It developed into a part of our daily work. Chilling out now means going on-line to get our social networking job done. But does the public really worry about what we discuss? For all the time we put into our features and posts, are only fellow realtors reading it? I guess we will never know for definite, will we?
I actually do examine the websites of my fellow real estate agents and I do read the reports they write, because the topics are of interest. For someone who is not connected to the housing market, I really couldn't say whether these features would be of any interest. So now I don't have to get together or talk to my colleagues often to know what is going on with their lives, I can read about it in their articles and posts. I know now more about people that I haven't talked to for ages due to the internet and the social network websites. That sure is brilliant!
As a realtor I deal Condos Toronto, and I consider social networking to be one of the key ways of making professional contacts. I hope this short article was of any help for you!
