Social Networking: A Tool for Self-Promotion?
Powered by Max Banner Ads
People say that you need to be on Facebook or other social networking websites otherwise you don’t exist. I am now beginning to believe them. Social network sites give you an insight into what your buddy’s and colleagues are doing. It is just about hopeless to keep in touch otherwise.
Still don’t just think of these internet sites as a way of keeping up to date about the lives of friends. Advertising yourself and promoting your product is another use of these sites as many real estate agents have discovered. With the rise of internet services, advertising in the newspaper or having large billboards have nearly disappeared forever. Internet is THE powerful tool now. If you scan the internet, you will see lots of articles with hints on how to use, and promote yourself, on social networking sites.
For older people who were not brought up with computers, it’s tough to get used to making the most out of computers and to find their way round websites. Youngsters use computers from a young age, so are fluent with them, whilst we, from the older generation, are taking a while to work things out. We stick with it and try our level best to learn it all. I bet a few of my fellow realtors have the same thoughts.
Finding your way round the internet, writing on social websites and finding interesting and new things to post on our blogs is usually the last thing we want to do after a long day at work. It evolved into a part of our daily routine. Working on our blogs and social network websites is now entertainment. Is it in vain, or are people bothered or care about what we post about? Is it only individuals that do the same job actually studying the articles and posts we make? Regrettably that is not a question any of us have the answer to?
I actually do inspect the websites of my fellow real estate representatives and I do read the features they write, because the topics are of interest. Are these features of any interest to individuals not involved in the real estate market, that I can’t answer. By perusing colleagues blogs and posts, it doesn’t matter how often I see them, I am always up to date with their lives. So I may not have seen to someone for a long time, but I can truthfully say I have learnt alot about them, and this is thanks to social networking. That sure is wonderful!
As a realtor I deal Condominiums Toronto, and I believe social networking to be one of the key ways of making professional contacts. Hopefully this short article did help you
